BIBLE MESSAGES

Do Not Fear: God’s Word of Hope for Every Day!

Day 60! We reach the end of our Do Not Fear journey today, with a verse from Revelation 1:17 which reads in this way:

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead.
But he placed his right hand on me, saying,
“Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last.”

From beginning to end, God has been God. God is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. And through everything that happens in our lives, God has promised to be with us no matter what. That’s the entire witness of the Bible, from Genesis through Revelation, and everything in between. God is with us.

On Saturday, August 1, we’ll start a study of the Gospel of Luke, so you can look forward to that. Here’s the video devotion:

And here’s a wonderful song with a new twist on it – Turn Your Eyes Unto Jesus! It’s a great way to end this series, and to look forward to our study of Luke!

The Cosmic Christ of Colossians – Day 1

Welcome to Day 1! We’re going to work our way through this wonderful letter of the New Testament which has incredible richness in theological depth and is likely the loftiest description of Jesus in the New Testament! It will take a couple days to introduce the context of this letter and the date and reason for its writing, so today we’re just focusing on a broad introduction and on several verses from chapter 1:

He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by him all things were created:
things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;
all things were created by him and for him.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:15-17

Read through those verses several times and let their witness to Jesus roll around in your mind and heart. And then here’s the video:
